General information
Justin is a reader who found interest in reading at a young age. Justin's father would read to him along with his teachers on most days. Justin loves to read adventure and mystery books. He enjoys reading, but sometimes has trouble finishing books that are assigned and do not interest him. The books that do interest him, he reads easily and will often find himself completely immersed in the story for long periods of time. Justin read five books completely last year. He read 3 personal picked books during the year and got through them easily, and finished "Frankenstein" and "lord of the flies" completely because he was intrigued. Justin did no finish the hamlet play write because he often got lost and couldn't understand the entirety of the writ. Justin read two books this summer completely and really enjoyed "How to Read Literature Like a Professor", because it open his mind to look at stories in books and movies differently. He simply did not budget his time as well for "Carmelo" and did not finish it all the way through. He did enjoy the book "The Waves". Justin is not currently reading a book, but will likely pick one soon for the reading logs, he bets. Justin has around 1,000 books in his house and pole barn. His father is a huge reader and has a historic degree and has taught classes on the side at CMU. Justin also believes that his father collects books for fun because there is absolutely no way he read that many books! Justin's favorite authors include: Rick Riordan, Tom Clancy, Ken Folett, and J.K. Rowling. Justin has grown as a reader in the past couple of years by forcing himself to try to find some type of way to enjoy assigned books that normally he wouldn't touch. But most of all he improved on actually picking up a book and finishing it, which he has not done from 8th grade to sophomore year (except for two in freshman year) |
Justin is a writer who first enjoyed writing when he decided to try and write a kids book in first grade. His books was awful, but he really enjoyed doing it. He learned to write early on when his mother and father had him trace words and say things. He was encouraged in third grade by his teacher who told him that he writes with a natural voice and should use it to his advantage. Justin feels that he is a good writer all in all, but sill believes he could do much better. Justin believes that people write to provide perspective of their personal life experiences to share as information with many other. People may also write to teach lessons, or to provoke thought. he believes that in order for people to write, a person must know. |
